==Categories in the Wiki==
+
Before you start, check out these pages:
Click here to see the list of all categories in the wiki:  [[:Special:Categories | Wiki Categories]]. Categories are a tool for organizing the content of the wiki into topical groupings.  A category is simply a group of articles with a "category tag" in common. Or said another way, you don't "put" an article in a category, you put a "category tag" into an article.  This then makes the article findable by listing it under that category. Of course you can also use the search box to look for stuff in the wiki.

Every category also has a "category page".  This is a page with an introductory note explaining what the category is about, and the category page also automatically generates an alphabetical list of article titles If you want to add a new category to the wiki, just add the tag for the new category at the end of your article. The link to the new category page will be in red, indicating that it does not exist yetClick the link to create the category page.  Please check the list of categories before adding a new one, to see if there is already a category that covers the content.  Please, please consider new category names carefully, because while articles can be renamed fairly easily using the move tab it is a non-trivial matter to rename a category.
