WHEN THE WHISTLE BLOWS by Fran Cannon Slayton
During the Friends meeting, meet author and Charlottesville resident Fran Cannon Slayton as she talks about why true stories can be a great starting point for writing fiction. Young writers will learn how to find their own voice both on paper and out in the everyday world.

In her new book you can meet a town and a train, and a time and a boy in a steam-driven coming of age story in the last of the real railroad days. Check the Catalog and visit Fran's website.
