GORONWY AND ME: A NARRATIVE OF TWO LIVES by Proal Heartwell

Goronwy Owen (1723-1769) is still regarded as one of the greatest Welsh poets. This book traces Owen's tempestuous life from his humble beginnings in Wales to his last years in Virginia. Owen emigrated to Virginia in 1757 to take a teaching position in Williamsburg and then became rector of St. Andrew's Parish in Brunswick County. The book's author, Proal Heartwell, grew up in Brunswick County and is currently co-director of the Village School in Charlottesville. Mr. Heartwell will be discussing what led him to write about Owen, showing photos he took during the research process, and signing copies of the book. Check the Catalog arrow
