September is Library Card Sign-Up Month and JMRL wants to make sure that your child has the smartest card of all — a library card. Observed since 1987, this is a time when the American Library Association and libraries across the country remind parents that a library card is the most important school supply of all. Library cards are FREE and bring you a world of opportunity— no matter what your age.

Here are all the wonderful things that you can do with a JMRL library card:

  • Borrow books—find a quiet spot, curl up with a book and enjoy!
    • adult fiction (over 41,000 titles in our collection)
    • non-fiction books (over 87,000 titles on our collection)
    • young adult books (over 3,000 in our collection)
    • children's books (over 54,000 titles in our collection)
  • Borrow audiobooks (over 10,000 in our collection)
  • Download audiobooks and eBooks
  • Borrow DVDs and video tapes
  • Check out music CDs
  • Access online databases that the library subscribes to
  • Use the internet in all branches of the library system
  • Use computer word processing in all branches
  • Place books on hold
